Made to measure
Elykes Design is a tailoring studio built on a simple idea: clothes should be made for the person wearing them, not the other way round. Every piece begins with a conversation and a set of measurements, and ends with a fitting.
Elykes began in 2017 with a single machine in a room at home and a growing list of people who wanted something that actually fit.
What started as alterations became commissions, and commissions became a practice. Today the studio works across bespoke, bridal and ready-to-wear — but the method hasn't changed. One garment at a time, drafted to a person's own measurements, sewn and finished by hand where it counts.
Fabric is chosen with the wearer, not for them. A pattern is drafted rather than adapted. Seams are finished on the inside as carefully as the outside, because the parts nobody sees are the parts that hold a garment together over years rather than seasons.
The studio takes a limited number of commissions at a time. That's deliberate. It's the only way to give each piece the fittings it needs.
The process

01 — Consultation
We talk through the occasion, the silhouette and the fabric. Bring images, a garment you already love, or nothing at all. This can happen at the studio or over a call.

02 — Measuring
A full set of measurements taken in person, and a pattern drafted specifically for you. Nothing is adapted from a standard block.
- 03
03 — Fitting
A first fitting in calico or the chosen cloth, then adjustments. Most pieces need two; some need three. We don't rush this part.

04 — Finishing
Final hand-finishing, pressing, and a last fitting before the piece is yours. Care instructions come with every garment.
